An insignificant day of ups and downs...some serious road works coupled with the foreboding thought of an imminient colonoscopy lead to some serious navel gasing...no thats not right..although considering the imminent (see above) ..well you know I don't need to go into it!...
...I meant gaseing....thats not it either.....
...........gazing..there you go..still having trouble with this language after all these years!!
It started with a road block..... I let someone pass in front of me because the sun was shinning and....and why not?....So whats new you ask?......the new is the the huge macho looking man in the pick up truck that stopped and let me go ahead of him..Wahooooo..its going to be a good day.....and it did help when shortly after the guy in the towering container truck gave me the finger when I tried to merge in front of him ......the work part went well (now thats something to celebrate - the Gods of the DMV must have been feeling benevolent today!)........and then on a mundane supermarket stop I fell for the are you a sucker "sale" sign for grapefruit segments - now I NEVER buy these ..they are more expensive than gold (and thats saying something in this market)..but on sale ...well ...ok ...maybe...just this once..I impetuously and indulgently bought the lifetime supply jar.......and yet on check out it didn't seem like...er... quite such a good deal....and there I was feeling despondent......overindulgent...wasteful...and misunderstood (not sure why this but oh well).....so with the weight of the world on my shoulders...or rather the weight of the grapefruit segments I went to leave..........but NO I would investigate.....and investigate I did (fearless woman I hear you say?! thats me)......and a mistake.....ah ha......and here it became magical.......Did you know that ACME policy is if it rings up wrong you get it for FREE...yes FREE.......holy Cow ...on a life times supply of segments too................So I flew out of there.... pirouetting to the car .....on a cloud of goodwill and .....and here it gets good....let three people in front of me leaving the parking lot......So pass it forward I say...as long as you get to go home with the segments!
